Funtunfunefu Art Stay
Funtunfunefu Art Stay is a multidisciplinary arts residency travel program that brings together International and Ghanaian Artists.
International artists can immerse themselves in Ghanaian culture, connecting with and learning from local artists as an inspiration for their work.
Operating as an NGO, Funtunfunefu Art Stay’s main function is to promote the creation and sharing of contemporary African art created in Ghana. Funtunfunefu Art Stay offers diverse spaces where artists can immerse themselves in their creative craft while sharing ideas and exchanging skills with each other and with local artists.
The program offers both private and group art workshops, travel to cultural and ecological sites throughout Ghana, fabulous art market visits, art exhibitions, art talks, an opportunity to conduct free art workshops that benefit local schools, and an annual writing conference. Artist fees support scholarships for Ghanaian artists. While open to all artists, Funtunfunefu Art Stay is particularly interested in inviting artists whose work fosters dialogue about the development of opportunities for women and girls.
