High-Flown Words: Griot Guide Youth Storytelling Created During the COVID Pandemic is a collection of short stories and artwork by Syracuse youth. It also includes a “write your own story” section for young readers. High-Flown Words showcases the artistry and creativity of young writers in their very first publication.

High-Flown Words is a collaborative project between Wildebeest Publishing Company and the Griot Guides Project, a program which promotes literacy, creativity, and artistry for Syracuse youth aged 8-14. The Griot Guides Project was funded by a Black Excellence grant from The Central New York Community Foundation, Syracuse University’s Community Folk Art Center, and Wildebeest Publishing Company's First Time Authors Fund.
